2) Passenger Info
Please ensure that you have:
Name & weights of all passengers;
A chosen date;
Voucher details -
For Groupon we’ll need the 10 digit SECURITY CODE.
For Virgin Experience Days/5 Star we’ll need the SERIAL NUMBER and THE V PIN.
For Experience Days your voucher number must be activated with them and we’ll need the code starting with “EX-”.
For Into The Blue we’ll need the VOUCHER NUMBER.
For VVB Direct Bookings we just need your order/voucher number.
3) Terms, Conditions & Restrictions

Max weight per seat strictly:

Flights subject to weather and aircraft serviceability therefore are subject to cancellation at short notice. Unfortunately the British weather can sometimes be unfavourable to us for flying!

We are unfortunately unable to fly guests who arrive past their allocated check in time.
Booking line available 10am - 4pm Monday - Friday.
4) Get booked in!
You can either contact us on our main line or alternatively send us an email with ALL of the details listed above and we can make your reservation on your selected date. Once booked, we will send you a confirmation email as well as a text. In the case of any cancellations, we will also contact you using these details.

How long is the flight?
The flight time is approx. 25-35 minutes; this can depend on the local conditions as Air Traffic Control restrictions.
What helicopter will I fly in?
You will be flying in a turbine engine Bell 206 LongRanger.
Where will the flight take off from?
All flights depart and return to London Elstree Aerodrome.
On the day of the flight you will need to come to VVB Aviation Services Ltd, Elstree Aviation Centre, Hogg Ln, Borehamwood, WD6 3AN.
VVB is the big blue glass building on the right as you drive up Hogg Lane.
What will we see?
You will see The Olympic Park, Canary Wharf, O2 arena, The Shard, Tower Bridge, Big Ben and much more!
How far ahead do I need to book?
Try to book as far ahead as possible, especially if you’d like to fly on a weekend. We recommend that you book 6 – 8 weeks in advance although this varies depending on the time of year.
What if I can’t get through on the phone?
We are sorry, but sometimes our bookings line is very busy. Please leave a message on our voicemail or send an email to email@example.com. We will get back to you as soon as we possibly can!
What should I wear?
Please keep the weather in mind! No hats, heels or loose items of clothing are allowed. The helicopter can sometimes get quite hot, even if it is cold outside. We also recommend that you bring sunglasses.
Will the pilot give us commentary?
The pilot will point out some sights and you may ask questions but please do not expect a Planet Earth style commentary - their priority is flying the aircraft and communicating with air traffic control, so please bear this in mind when speaking to them.
Is there parking?
Yes, there is on-site parking at VVB however if our car park is full then you can park in the main airfield car park, slightly further down Hogg Lane.
Can we take photos?
Please feel free to take photos and videos once you are in the helicopter, however you cannot take photographs on the apron or helipad – we need your full attention when operating around the aircraft as you may be boarding with the rotors running.

What happens if I’m late?
Unfortunately if you miss your check in time then you will not be able to fly or rebook. Our flights are highly regulated and passenger schedules are finalised weeks prior to the flight, therefore we cannot delay flights to wait for late passengers or move late passengers to other flights on the day. Whilst we understand that there are unforeseen delays en route, it is your responsibility to arrive for the allocated check-in time.
Can I cancel/amend my booking?
You can amend/cancel your booking up to 7 days prior to your scheduled flight. We have a strict 7 day cancellation policy, and full details can be seen by clicking here. If you cancel a booking you must reschedule it within 4 months, unless the voucher is valid for longer.
Are there any restrictions?
The weight limit is 14.5 ST and this is not negotiable. If you are over 6’3 then you may find the helicopter slightly cramped.
Unfortunately, the flight is unsuitable for people who are pregnant, suffer from epilepsy or suffer from vertigo. This is due to legal reasons.

What’s the minimum/maximum age?
The minimum age is 6 years old. There is no maximum age however all passengers must be of reasonable health and agile enough to enter and exit the aircraft unaided.
What if I have a medical condition?
Medical conditions will be assessed on a case by case basis – please call us on 0208 953 0584 for more details.
What can I take in the helicopter?
You may only take your phone and camera in the helicopter. No other personal belongings or hand baggage is allowed in the aircraft due to security reasons. We have coin-return lockers available if required.
Who will I share my flight with?
Unless you have booked a private flight you may be sharing the flight with up to 5 other passengers.
What if I have a voucher?
Please see above for full instructions on how to book your flight.
Can I have a go at the controls?
Unfortunately you are not allowed to touch the controls whilst on our London Tours, however you can book a flying lesson with us where you will be able to try the controls for yourself - it’s an experience we highly recommend!
Can VVB Aviation cancel my booking?
For our flights to go ahead we need the weather to be suitable, the helicopter to be serviceable and there needs to be no air traffic control restrictions, amongst other things. Any cancellations or time changes will be made for operational safety reasons that are beyond our control. In such cases, we will contact you either by email or phone. Please note that this may be last minute if we are not forewarned of reasons for a cancellation.
What happens if the weather is bad on the day?
We are normally able to get a good picture of the weather the day before your flight, but sometimes the weatherman gets it wrong! There are a number of meteorological regulations that we must legally follow - even if it is sunny, that doesn’t necessarily mean that it is suitable flying weather. You will be able to reschedule your flight if it is cancelled due to weather and must reschedule within 4 months, unless the voucher is valid longer.
Can I bring spectators?
Spectators are more than welcome! We have a small waiting area at VVB, or they can view the helipad from outside the airfield restaurant. Due to health and safety reasons, they will not be allowed to go airside onto the active aerodrome. Unfortunately, you will not be able to leave children under 16 unattended.
Can I bring my pet?
Believe it or not, we do get asked this question. We love animals but due to health and safety reasons we kindly ask that you do not bring any pets with you.
How can I check if my flight is going ahead?
You can either call us on 0208 953 0584 or send us an email. Due to the restrictions within aviation we are sometimes forced to cancel flights at the last minute but please rest assured that you will be able to rebook your flight.
Can I be refused to fly?
Under UK aviation law, the pilot has the right to remove passengers from the flight or refuse boarding if they are acting in such a way that is a concern for safety (e.g. violent, intoxicated, disruptive, etc). This includes being abusive to staff members. In such cases, you will lose your voucher.
Do I need to bring I.D?
Please bring indentifcation with you. You will be asked to complete a form on the day and we will also need details of an emergency contact, including their full address and post code.
Can I sit in the front seat?
The front seat is automatically allocated based on the optimum weight and balance for the aircraft on that flight. If you would like us to guarantee the front seat then we are happy to rearrange the seating manually for a £10 surcharge. Please enquire at reception when checking in for your flight as this cannot be pre-purchased.
