Take to the air in a 2-seat Cabri G2 or 4-seat Robinson R44 helicopter for a thrilling ‘Hands-On' flying experience!
VVB Aviation Flight School offers a wide range of courses from trial lessons to commercial pilot training; we are one of the UK's leading independent aviation companies.
VVB Aviation have worked hard to become one of the few UK flight schools that offers training from your initial lesson, all the way through to commercial and further onto Instrument Ratings; as well as having Civil Aviation Authority approval to offer training to become an official Flight Examiner. An instrument rating is one of the hardest qualifications for a helicopter pilot to attain, and will allow you to fly multi-engine helicopters in cloud and other poor visibility weather. Whatever stage of flying you are at, whether you have 1 hour or 100 hours, you will receive our professional and undivided attention for all of your training.
Aircraft and Info
The 2-seat Cabri G2 is a new generation of training helicopter, featuring digital cockpit screens and designed with an unparalleled attention to safety.
The 4-seat Robinson R44 is the world’s most popular helicopter, with over 5,000 models produced since 1993. The R44 offers similar performance to larger turbine helicopters, with high reliability, fuel economy and excellent safety features as well as hydraulically assisted controls – at an affordable price.
For some, a trial lesson will be a one-off experience, for others it will be a foundation upon which to build on and learn to fly. For all, it will be truly memorable!
Our experienced instructors will handle the take-off and the radio as dual controls are fitted, but after you've left the helipad you will be passed control of the helicopter under careful supervision. You will be in the helicopter for either 30 or 60 minutes depending on which package you purchase. In addition to this, you will also have a pre-flight briefing with your instructor which should take approximately 30 minutes. We operate our trial lessons seven days a week throughout the year, however availability may be limited during busy seasons. Gift vouchers can be purchased over the telephone or in person at our base at Elstree Aerodrome, by credit/debit card. The flight can be booked at the time of purchase or the voucher holder can telephone to book a time convenient to themselves.
Please see the requirements and information section at the bottom of the page to ensure that you are aware of any restrictions.
